Thegreenlanterncorps.com conducted a great interview with Van Jensen, writer of Green Lantern Corps. There are a lot of great questions and answers about how the Corps works, including how Green Lanterns get paid, and what’s in store for the Green Lantern Corps, John Stewart, and his relationship with Yrra Cynril (Fatality).

One thing I’m particularly happy about is that Van Jensen reveals he has no plans or interest in having John Stewart share the Green Lantern Corps title with another human Green Lantern. That’s a relief to me, because I’ve greatly enjoyed the focus on John Stewart lately, and the character had so little focus during the entire Geoff Johns era that I think it would be a shame for him to have to share the spotlight.

That’s not all, though. Van Jensen has also held an interview with Newsarama and unveiled some art for the upcoming Green Lantern Corps #27.

“There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. But to see it, you might have to squint. The Corps has some big, big challenges ahead. And for John Stewart, well, 2014 will be a memorable year. The Corps will need him, and he’ll need the Corps.”

I continue to be an advocate of The Rock assuming the role of John Stewart because I feel Dwayne Johnson, who is currently the biggest name in acting, can do wonders for both the Green Lantern franchise and the John Stewart character. If The Rock appears in a movie franchise as John that makes billions of dollars, you can bet we’ll get another shot at a Green Lantern specific film franchise, and perhaps even a cartoon, and a load of other media goodies! The Rock is the perfect actor to open the floodgates for Green Lantern John Stewart.
