About John Stewart UPDATED
on June 30, 2015
With the excellent Van Jensen, Marcelo Maiolo, and Bernard Chang run of Green Lantern Corps behind us, and with John having embarked on a new adventure in Cullen Bunn and Jesus Saiz’s Green Lantern: Lost Army, a brilliant chapter in John Stewart’s history has closed, and a new one begun. As such, some of the pages around GreenLantern.Co are/were in need of updating. One such page is “About John Stewart.” If you have already visited that page, this is a good time to take another look at it, because it’s been brought up to speed with current happenings. If you’ve never seen it before, head on over to it and read about John’s rich history.
“Jensen’s character driven writing and the absolutely stunning visuals from Bernard Chang and Marcelo Maiolo rejuvenated my interest in Green Lantern comic books. Furthermore, Van Jensen updated John’s rather dated origin for the New 52 in the Secret Origins series. Jensen incorporated the best elements of John Stewart from the comics and cartoons, highlighting both his Marine and architect backgrounds. He also made his origin completely independent of Hal Jordan. No longer was John a “backup,” but an important figure of prophecy who the Guardians had been watching all his life.”
Keep an eye on GreenLantern.Co. More pages will be updated with new content.
