“UPRISING” part 2! As the Corps reels from the Battle for Mogo, John Stewart leads a team of Green Lanterns into the heart of enemy territory on a desperate rescue mission to save the Lanterns abducted by the Durlans and the Khund. This prison break is like nothing you’ve ever seen before! And as the Durlans train their sights on the next battlefield in the war, a long-lost member of the Corps returns! Continued from this month’s GREEN LANTERN #31!

Beautiful cover by Stephen Segovia. The Durlan War continues to rage, and a long lost member of the Corps returns? Who could that be? Ch’p? Katma Tui? They’re dead, of course, but this is comics, so anything is possible. Both Lanterns got a nod in last week’s Green Lantern Corps #28. Could that be some kind of foreshadowing? We’ll see! This is part two of a story called “Uprising.” Part one happens in Green Lantern #31, so readers may want to check that out, too.

Elsewhere, Green Lantern John Stewart meets Tom Welling’s Clark Kent in Smallville Season 11: Lantern #2.

Clark Kent is just beginning to grasp the potential of the Green Lantern ring, but all of John Stewart’s training hasn’t prepared him for the battle they’re about to face. Will Clark need to use his natural super powers to defeat an enemy John fears?

This is quite exciting to me. I’m actually a fan of the first three seasons of Smallville. New episodes of that show were being aired during the same time period as Justice League. There were several great DC television shows on the air at the time (others being Teen Titans and Static Shock), and I have long wanted to see a John Stewart appearance in Smallville. It looks like I finally get my wish in May!

Speaking of DC television shows, our next stop is a comic series based on one. Batman Beyond Universe #10 pits Batman Beyond against the Justice Lords; a popular set of villains from the legendary Justice League episode “A Better World.”

“JUSTICE LORDS BEYOND” continues! As Batman’s journey through the dystopian world of the Justice Lords takes an unexpected and deadly turn, the true meaning of Wonder Woman’s return is revealed – you must not to miss this!

It’ll be nice to see Green Lantern and Hawkgirl together again. It’s no secret how much of a fan of that relationship I am.

The Green Lantern Corps Volume 3 trade paperback titled “Willpower” will also be coming out.

If you’re interested in seeing what John Stewart was up to prior to the Van Jensen run of Green Lantern Corps, you can check out this volume.

John Stewart fans may also want to check out the Futures End weekly title that will arrive in May, since we’ve been told that John Stewart will play a role in that. More information on that in this update’s Oa, By the Way…. There is also Injustice Year 2 #5, which very well may feature a notable John Stewart appearance.

May looks like a busy month for John Stewart. There are many cool looking books for us to pick up!

Oa, by the way

Clevver Movies comments on some of the casting and rumors surrounding the Man of Steel sequel. Regarding the Lex Luthor rumors, it seems some were true and some weren’t. There was also truth to some of the Nightwing rumors. It’s comforting to know there is truth to some of the many rumors related to the film. There has been so much going on about Green Lantern John Stewart that I’m pretty confident we’ll see him in the DC Cinematic Universe.

Concerning John Stewart movie rumors, things have been a bit quiet the past few weeks, with the last ‘event’ being The Rock’s response to a certain IGN article. greenlantern.co will keep you up to date with the latest. For now, check out the Clevver Movies video:

Thanks for all the updates. John Stewart being in the Smallville Universe is surprising.

About the Smallville solicit – I wonder if the enemy being talked about is Bedovian, the Sinestro Corps sniper. it looks like that is a targeting HUD on Clark.

And you’re welcome! Thanks for continuing to read the site. I feel John Stewart and the fans deserve nice stuff, so I work pretty hard on it, but working on the site is a lot of fun and very enriching, so it’s a win situation all around.

Yeah, thank you for the updates, Desh! I’m happy to see John being used so often now. I’m really looking forward to seeing him in Justice League Beyond and Smallville.

You’re welcome. Yeah, it looks like DC is working to further raise John’s profile. There’s also what appears to be a graphic novel starring John Stewart on the way from Gail Simone and Ethan Van Sciver, which will hopefully come out sometime this year:

With all the talk of the character appearing in film, I’m hoping this effort is to coincide with a media push outside of comics.
